This book is very cute and well written, but I cannot use it in a classroom for this reason: On one of the pages, it has a little boy dressed up as an Indian alongside a bumblebee, a witch, and a princess. While I do not think the author meant this as an insult, it is extremely inappropriate to dress up as an American Indian. Would you dress up as a black person or a chinese person? Of course not. Yet, for some reason our society thinks it is appropriate to put dress up as an Indian just as we would an animal or fictional character. American Indians are real people!
Very Cute Halloween Book

My daughters (age 2 and 4) love this book, and so do I. It is based on the Christmas poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas," and this adds to the fun. The verses rhyme, but it does not feel stretched at all.
The book shows monsters and trick-or-treaters alike preparing for Halloween, then celebrating Halloween in their own fun ways. The pictures are great. I am impressed with this book and recommend it.

I was at my grandson's school as a guest in his class and the teacher was reading "The Night Before Halloween" to the class. The kids had so much fun with the story and I couldn't help but get a kick out of seeing them so taken in by this book. My dog Peanut's a big fan of children's books and I think he'd like this one, too!

This book is so very cute! My kids got a real kick out of the story and the "spooky" things getting all ready for Halloween, while the kids were trick or treating. Not too spooky and FUN!
